Job description

Our client, a leading insurance organization in Hong Kong, is seeking an experienced Business Analyst specializing in Insurance Systems. This role will act as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical execution teams to support core system modernization, process automation, and digital transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with key business stakeholders (Operations, Underwriting, Claims, Finance) to elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Translate business needs into detailed Functional Specification Documents (FSD), User Stories, and workflow diagrams for core policy administration system enhancements and migrations.
  • Evaluate existing core insurance workflows to identify bottlenecks and recommend digital solutions to drive operational efficiency.
  • Lead End-to-End User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparing test plans, writing test cases, coordinating execution with business users, and tracking defect remediation.
  • Partner with internal IT development teams and external system vendors/integrators to ensure solutions meet technical standards and business specifications.
  • Provide post-implementation support, conduct user training, and prepare system documentation for operational readiness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Insurance, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of Business Analyst experience within the Insurance sector (Life, General, or Health Insurance).
  • Proven hands-on track record working on Core Insurance Systems (e.g., eLife, Life Asia/400, BaNCS, Guidewire, TIA, InsureMO, or proprietary policy admin systems).
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies; proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Visio, and SQL for data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills with high adaptability to fast-paced project environments.
  • Fluency in Cantonese and English is required (Mandarin is an advantage).
