Job description

The Business Analyst will support insurance business initiatives related to operations, underwriting processes, exposure management, and system enhancements. The role focuses on gathering and translating business needs into functional requirements, supporting system improvements, and ensuring solutions align with underwriting objectives, risk governance, and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to insurance underwriting and exposure management.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand current processes and identify system and process improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business needs into clear and concise functional or system requirements.
  • Support initiatives related to risk assessment, exposure monitoring, and policy decision processes.
  • Assist in defining requirements for system enhancements, configuration changes, or system upgrades.
  • Collaborate with business users and technology teams to clarify requirements and support solution design.
  • Participate in workshops, interviews, and requirement walkthrough sessions.
  • Support testing activities, including preparation of test scenarios and execution of User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
  • Assist in defect analysis, requirement clarification, and resolution tracking during testing phases.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date documentation, such as business requirement documents and process flows.
  • Ensure system changes align with business objectives, internal controls, and governance requirements.
  • Provide ongoing support during implementation and post‑deployment phases.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • At least 2+ experience as a Business Analyst within an insurance or financial services environment.
  • Exposure to underwriting‑related processes, risk assessment, or insurance exposure concepts would be a plus.
  • Experience supporting system enhancements, system change, or transformation initiatives.
  • Understanding of insurance policy lifecycle, risk evaluation, or policy decision processes.
  • Exposure to working with cross‑functional stakeholders, including business and technology teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to bridge business and technical discussions.
  • Experience working in a structured, regulated, or governance‑driven environment is an advantage.
  •  Familiarity with Agile or waterfall delivery approaches is a plus.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Chinese.
