Business development manager, Crypto Private Wealth

Company Overview:
Our client is a leading bank that embraces cryptocurrencies with a significant presence in APEC. They aim to bridge the gap between traditional financial services and the realm of cryptocurrencies. They are now actively seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Manager to join their team.

This position is based in Hong Kong.

Responsibilities:
As the Business Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in driving business growth and expanding our client base in Asia. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Business Development: Identify and engage prospective clients in the Asian market, including high-net-worth individuals, institutional investors, and corporates. Foster strong relationships with existing clients to maximize cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
• Private Banking Expertise: Utilize your extensive private banking experience and network to attract and onboard clients. Provide tailored financial advice, wealth management solutions, and investment strategies that align with clients' needs and risk profiles.
• Crypto-Friendly Banking: Demonstrate a deep understanding and genuine interest in the crypto industry. Educate clients about the advantages and risks associated with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.
• Legal and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) procedures. Collaborate closely with the legal and compliance teams to streamline client onboarding processes and adhere to internal policies.
• Mandarin Fluency: Utilize your fluency in Mandarin to effectively communicate with clients and stakeholders in the Asian market. Conduct client meetings, presentations, and negotiations in Mandarin when necessary.

Requirements:

• To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
• Private Banking Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in private banking, wealth management, or a related field. Demonstrated success in managing high-net-worth clients and achieving business targets.
• Strong Network: Well-established connections within the private banking industry in Asia. Proven ability to leverage your network to attract and onboard clients.
• Crypto Enthusiast: In-depth understanding of cryptocurrencies, blockchain technology, and the broader crypto ecosystem. Passion for staying updated with the latest trends and developments in the crypto space.
• Legal and Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with the legal and compliance requirements for client onboarding in the banking industry. Experience navigating complex legal and regulatory frameworks related to cryptocurrencies is highly desirable.
• Mandarin Fluency: Fluent in Mandarin, both spoken and written, to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients and stakeholders. Proficiency in English is also required.
• Results-Driven: Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed business targets, drive revenue growth, and achieve performance metrics. Strong negotiation, presentation, and closing skills.
• Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with clients and internal stakeholders.
