This Client is one of the largest blockchain development companies in the world building out household name applications across finance, DeFi, NFT’s and general Blockchain SaaS solutions. Most of their employees operate fully remotely and we are looking for Chief of Architecture within the Crypto trading team. The Crypto Trading team’s mission is to design, build, and maintain services that power and accelerate our crypto products, platforms, and operations, with the goal of building the world’s best crypto trading platform.
The Chief of Architecture is a mission-critical position responsible for guiding and inspiring a team of architects in the design, development and test process across all products related to the company. The ideal candidate will possess an excellent web3 background in technology implementation, strategy, team leadership, project management, fundamental technical knowledge, and the ability to effectively communicate across functional teams. This position is remote base opening which is a collaborative environment that encourages input and involvement from all levels of the team.

Essential Functions
- Build scalable systems and components, making the right tradeoffs to account for stability and long-term maintainability
- Collaborate with our frontend and data teams to fine tune our REST APIs supporting millions of customers
- Provide architectural guidance for both short-term enhancements and long-term strategy
- Directly manage the backlog of architecture stories to align with the long-term vision for the platform
- Serve as the architecture generalist bringing together viewpoints from specialists and evangelizing them
- Provide technical feedback to both development and business stakeholders
- Ensure that best practices are applied to both design and implementation
- Work across Engineering teams to look for opportunities to improvements at all steps of the development process
- Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments
- Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining a best-of-class engineering team
- Report on status of architecture initiatives to VP of Engineering and Business teams
- Support Product team on feature creation and sizing to rollout features to Engineering teams
- Work closely with Product, Design, and Platform teams to drive the vision for the future of Crypto trading platform
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar field
- 10+ years of experience in the design, implementation and delivery of enterprise-grade web based products, supporting the highest levels of scale and availability
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
- A strong track record of project delivery of large, cross-functional projects. Significant prior involvement in high-volume transaction environments (preferably gaming, financial, or other highly concurrent software projects)
- Understanding of Java, Golang, JavaScript, Swift, Kotlin, MySQL and HTML5
- Experience with the Agile Software Delivery methodology
- Experience building applications for cloud environments, such as Amazon AWS
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, facilitation, presentation and team building skills
- Proven experience working on large projects with long-term impact on a single system or team
- Hands on technical and product experience in Crypto, Blockchain and or Web3 ecosystem
- Experience with Jira or other Agile Management tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to identify and address the needs of users
- Thorough understanding of software development best practices and procedures
- Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
- Ability to be licensed as an Employee by various racing and gaming jurisdictions in which we operate, as required
- High proficiency in both spoken and written English and Chinese
