Job description

We are representing our client (an established FMCG retailer) to look for an ERP and Retail Application Manager to manage the software applications used within the corporate office in Hong Kong, as well as provide advice to other business units throughout the region. He/she is responsible for identifying the best software to meet the business needs and be involved from the acquisition of the software to its successful implementation.

Responsibilities
  • Assessing Business Requirements
  • Understand the business needs, and analyse the structure and flow of business processes.
  • Gather and analyse software users' needs.
  • Identify the best application solutions and define the software requirements that can meet business needs and improve business operations.
  • Apply knowledge of software and the latest software developments to drive business efficiency and success.
  • Management of Software Applications
  • Liaise and negotiate with vendors to acquire software.
  • Determine the required levels of security and backup for the software applications.
  • Prepare and ensure servers are ready before the installation and configuration of new software applications.
  • Monitor the implementation of new ERP & Retail applications, conduct post-implementation testing, and resolve any issues.
  • Perform and oversee routine software updates and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot problems with the software.
  • Vendor Management
  • Establish strong partnerships with vendors to set clear expectations in supporting the software.
  • Negotiate with vendors over agreements and ensure that contracts are in place to support the services provided by the applications team.
  • Project Management Lead
  • Ensure delivery of project in accordance with the timeline, scope and budget.
  • Act as the single point of contact working closely with the Project Management team, functional Business Process Owners and vendors.
  • Foster collaboration and manage the expectations of senior stakeholders.
  • Prepare risk management reports and status updates. Identify and highlight key risks and develop appropriate contingency plans.
  • Communicate to the Project Steering Committee on status, progress and open items timely.
  • Escalate timely to the Project Steering Committee on deviations from timeline, budget and scope for decision making.
  • Resolve project-related conflicts and issues, escalate when necessary.
  • Ensure project phases and activities are planned correctly, the owner of each deliverable is correctly identified, and the work is executed in alignment with planned deliverables.
  • Ensure that critical success factors and KPIs are met.
  • Provide an integrative view and analysis of the various project aspects to enable better decision making.
  • Ensure that information is collected, synthesized and disseminated to the Steering Committee and key stakeholders.
  • Develop Strategies
  • Work with the Corporate IT Team to develop and implement IT strategies to drive continuous improvements in systems and to better align the overall IT strategy with the company’s overall financial and corporate strategy.
  • IT Support for Users
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation to train users in using new or upgraded software applications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
  • At least 7 years of experience in IT, with 5 years of software development and project management experience in implementing Dynamics 365 for Finance & Operations.
  • Experience in database management, information system troubleshooting and developing automated business systems.
  • Strong skills in system design, development, implementation, and user support principles and practices.
  • Knowledge in computer systems, database management software and spreadsheet software.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise, strategize and collaborate with vendors and system users.
