Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage operating budgets, local accounting systems, reconciliation processes, and oversee the company’s cash flow to ensure effective treasury controls are in place.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy that aligns with business growth objectives and regulatory requirements, ensuring all accounting practices and internal audits adhere to financial regulations.
- Maintain and improve the company’s stress testing methodologies and scenarios to meet internal needs and comply with external regulatory standards.
- Establish and nurture strong, professional relationships with regulators, auditors, local banking partners, and other external stakeholders.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and reports to the General Manager, Group CFO, and Board of Directors.
- Provide financial and treasury support for new business initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with legal, compliance, and business teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Act as the designated Finance Officer for specific regulatory licenses in the Middle East, ensuring full compliance with licensing obligations.
- Assist with other ad hoc duties and projects as assigned.
- At least 6 years of relevant experience in the Financial Services sector, particularly within regulated environments.
- Chartered accountancy certifications such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a named Finance Officer or a similar regulatory role in the Middle East is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of cash flow and liquidity management, along with accounting practices specific to the UAE and/or Middle East region.
- Excellent proficiency in spoken and written English; Arabic language skills are an added advantage.
- Experience working with international or multinational companies is a plus.
- Strong understanding of IFRS principles.
- Familiarity with crypto-related topics is an advantage.
- Experience with NetSuite (Oracle) systems is a plus.
- Exceptional project management, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented and analytical, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
- A hands-on approach and a strong willingness to take initiative and get the job done.
- Passionate about start-ups and advancing digital assets.
