Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the Compliance department and the company's overall compliance efforts, working closely with the Chief Legal Officer.
• Develop and maintain robust compliance policies, procedures, controls, and frameworks to meet regulatory requirements.
• Oversee execution and adherence to policies and internal controls.
• Assist with AML registration and/or licensing projects.
• Create compliance reports and other materials for stakeholders.
• Develop a roadmap for the Compliance department's continued adequacy.
• Manage regulatory inquiries and exams.
• Implement efficiencies and process improvements.
• Collaborate with legal and other compliance professionals on relevant projects.
• Administer company-wide compliance training.
• Oversee compliance risk assessments, audits, and monitoring programs.
• Stay apprised of regulatory updates and provide guidance.
• Ensure policies and procedures are consistent with regulations.
• Oversee regulatory filings.
• Work cross-functionally to implement an effective compliance program.
• Oversee internal control effectiveness and mitigate residual risks.
• Contribute to the surveillance program, including transaction monitoring.
• Represent the Compliance department before stakeholders and regulators

 
Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in law, business, compliance, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of leading compliance experience in financial services, FinTech, or cryptocurrency.
• Previous experience as a Chief Compliance Officer (or equivalent) is highly valued.
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Track record in licensing and regulatory matters for financial and cryptocurrency organizations.
• Knowledge of the latest policy and rules from standard-setting bodies.
• Start-up experience, especially in handling complex compliance matters, is preferred.
• Experience in sanctions compliance, KYC, and AML controls is necessary.
• Ability to work independently and make tough decisions.
• Strong understanding of regulatory obligations for financial services firms.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the virtual assets regulatory environment and licensing requirements.
• Experience with digital asset products (spot trading, copy trading, margins, derivatives, options).
• Skilled in collaborating with stakeholders across technical and non-technical groups.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin.
• Preference for the successful candidate to be based in Singapore or Hong Kong.
