As the Director, Investment Strategist in a Leading Regional Bank, your key responsibility will be to:
- Conduct in-depth, fundamental and quantitative research across all major asset classes (foreign exchange, equities, fixed income, commodities, credit, rates, and alternative investments) and global macroeconomies to identify trends, relative-value opportunities, and actionable investment ideas.
- Develop and maintain an integrated house view on global macro and multi-asset strategies, covering developed and emerging markets, cross-asset correlations, regime shifts, monetary/fiscal policy impacts, geopolitical risks, and sector/theme-specific drivers.
- Support the Head of Investment Strategy in exceeding revenue targets by driving fee income across the full spectrum of investment solutions (FX, rates, equities, credit, commodities, structured products, and alternatives), with particular emphasis on cross-asset and macro-driven offerings.
- Produce high-conviction, forward-looking macro and asset-allocation recommendations; regularly present and defend these views in internal investment committee meetings, daily morning briefings, strategy forums, and innovation sessions.
- Act as the primary macro thought partner to client-facing teams; accompany relationship managers on client visits to deliver tailored macroeconomic and multi-asset insights, construct bespoke portfolio solutions, and respond to specific client queries across all asset classes.
- Enhance the firm’s brand and intellectual capital through:
- Regular contributions to flagship research publications and client reports (English and Mandarin)
- Appearances at major industry conferences, roundtables, and media outlets (TV, print, digital)
- Targeted thought-leadership pieces and market commentaries covering global macro and all asset classes
- Create and maintain sophisticated, client-segmented advisory frameworks and model portfolios that optimize risk-adjusted returns across the entire asset-class universe, incorporating dynamic asset allocation, tactical tilts, and hedging strategies.
- Continuously monitor and rebalance advisory frameworks in response to changing macro regimes, market volatility, and client risk parameters; proactively communicate recommended adjustments to relationship teams and clients.
- Collaborate closely with product specialists (FX, rates, equities, commodities, alternatives) to design and promote innovative, macro-aware investment propositions that meet client objectives.
- Author regular publications including daily/weekly market updates, thematic deep dives, urgent flash notes, and client-specific strategy pieces covering developments across all asset classes and global macro themes.
- Take on additional responsibilities and projects as directed by the Head of Investment Strategy.

- Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications (such as CFA, CPWP, CFP) are a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of research, analyst, or asset management experience in leading banks or financial institutions, with a strong focus on macroeconomics and FX.
- Deep knowledge of global and local markets, and familiarity with all asset classes and investment products.
- Strong understanding of China’s economy and policies.
- Excellent and persuasive writing and presentation skills.
- Proficient in public speaking and conducting briefings for frontline teams and clients.
- Strong command of written and spoken Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese) and English.
- Self-motivated with strong communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- A critical thinker willing to challenge mainstream views.
