The IT Infrastructure Manager (AM) is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the IT infrastructure for a buy-side hedge funds company. This role requires expertise in cloud computing, hardware/data centre management, vendor management and a strong understanding of the unique requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Design and Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to design and plan the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Cloud Computing: Manage cloud infrastructure, including the selection, deployment, and optimization of cloud services to support digital services.
- Hardware and Data Centre Management: Oversee the procurement, installation, and maintenance of hardware components, including networking and security equipment.
- Infrastructure Management: Manage the company's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, databases, and cloud services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
- Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity: Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the IT systems can recover quickly in the event of a disruption.
- Vendor Management and Reporting: Manage service quality for hardware vendors, cloud service providers, and data centre facilities, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements and service level expectations.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor and analyse infrastructure performance and capacity, identifying potential bottlenecks and planning for future growth and scalability.
- Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the security team to implement and maintain robust security measures, including access controls, vulnerability management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Incident and Problem Management: Lead the resolution of infrastructure-related incidents and problems, coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to minimize downtime and impact on business operations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and optimization of the IT infrastructure, driving efficiency and cost savings.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years experience in IT infrastructure management, preferably in financial services industry.
- Certification and hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure or GCP), DevSecOps and infrastructure-as-code.
- Hands-on experience with IT hardware components, data centre management, and networking technologies.
- Experience in disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Experience in vendor management and service quality assurance.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong IT architecture design, communication and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Candidates with a banking/ hedge funds background would be an added advantage.
