This well-reputed Regional Bank is looking for seasoned Legal Counsel to join their team due to great success in their business last year. You will be joining a team of 3, reporting to the Department Head. Great working culture and great stability are provided.

As the Legal Counsel in a well-reputed Regional Bank, your key responsibility will be:
- Advise and direct external counsel on litigation proceedings, while furnishing the Executive Management and pertinent internal divisions with precise, commercially astute, and strategically sound counsel.
- Draft, scrutinise, and negotiate an extensive array of sophisticated commercial contracts and legal instruments pertaining to the Bank’s diverse suite of services and products.
- Deliver prompt, authoritative, and pragmatic legal opinions to senior leadership and relevant business units.
- Conduct thorough reviews and refinements of the Bank’s internal policies and procedural frameworks from a legal standpoint, ensuring unwavering alignment with the most current statutory and regulatory obligations.
- Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across various internal departments, including Headquarters and international branches, to maintain uniformity and coherence in the Bank’s overarching policy landscape.
- Design and deliver bespoke training programmes on pertinent legal topics for staff members, whilst proactively keeping the organisation abreast of evolving legislative and regulatory developments.
- A qualified solicitor in Hong Kong with a minimum of three years’ post-qualification experience at a reputable law firm or in-house legal department.
- Prior exposure to the banking or financial services sector, or a robust understanding of banking operations, will be regarded as a distinct advantage.
- Familiarity with ISDA documentation will be viewed particularly favourably.
- Substantial expertise in commercial litigation is indispensable.
- Demonstrated mastery in the drafting, review, and interpretation of complex contracts.
- Outstanding proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Mandarin considered a significant asset.
