As the Legal Manager in a well-reputed Regional Bank, your key responsibility will be:
- Advise and coordinate with external legal counsel on litigation matters, delivering precise, commercially astute guidance to senior management and relevant business units.
- Draft, review, and negotiate a comprehensive suite of commercial agreements and legal documentation pertaining to the bank’s products, services, and transactional activities.
- Provide prompt, pragmatic, and high-quality legal support to management and internal stakeholders across the organisation.
- Regularly review and refine internal policies and procedures from a legal standpoint to ensure full alignment with current statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with headquarters, overseas branches, and other internal functions to maintain consistency and coherence in the bank’s global policy framework.
- Design and deliver targeted training sessions on key legal topics for staff, while keeping the organisation abreast of material developments in the regulatory and legal landscape.
- Qualified solicitor in Hong Kong with a minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
- Prior in-house or private practice exposure within the banking or financial services sector is strongly preferred; demonstrable familiarity with banking operations will be highly regarded.
- Proficiency in ISDA documentation and related derivatives agreements represents a distinct advantage.
- Substantial experience and expertise in commercial litigation are essential.
- Outstanding contract drafting, negotiation, and interpretation capabilities.
- Exceptional proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese; fluency in Mandarin will be considered a significant advantage.
