As the Assocaite Director, FX Specialist in a well-reputed Regional Bank, your key responsibility will be:
- Offer sophisticated foreign exchange guidance and seamless execution support to discerning private clients, working in close partnership with dedicated Relationship Managers to drive elevated transaction volumes, strengthen the institution’s competitive stance, and contribute meaningfully to divisional earnings.
- Partner strategically with Relationship Managers and specialist colleagues across the wealth division to support sustained revenue momentum and long-term client portfolio expansion.
- Apply a structured, anticipatory mindset when counselling clients on currency exposure management, helping safeguard and optimise their positions amid market volatility.
- Engage actively with leading external counterparties and internal innovation channels to source and integrate advanced foreign exchange offerings that elevate the overall client experience.
- Deliver regular, high-calibre market intelligence, encompassing currency trends, geopolitical influences, and evolving product capabilities — to sales and investment professionals during formal briefings and strategy forums.
- Carry out licensed activities in accordance with regulatory obligations
- Maintain strict adherence to the firm’s authorised scope of business, HKMA guidelines, and the prevailing SFC Code of Conduct for Licensed Persons.
- Minimum 8 years of proven client-facing experience in foreign exchange advisory, sales, or execution within a leading financial services organisation.
- University degree holder, preferably supported by relevant professional credentials in finance, capital markets, or investments.
- Currently registered (or immediately eligible for registration) as a Relevant Individual for SFC-regulated activities Types 1 and 4 (and Type 9 if required for the mandate).
- Deep, practical knowledge of the foreign exchange ecosystem, including key regulatory considerations, client priorities, and structural dynamics.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities in English, with a poised and persuasive interpersonal style; fluency in Mandarin is a distinct advantage.
- Genuine team player with a collaborative approach and strong sense of shared purpose.
- Comfortable assessing portfolio-level implications and risk profiles in multi-asset contexts.
- Skilled in appraising and recommending foreign exchange instruments tailored to individual client circumstances.
- Highly proficient with premier market data and trading platforms (Reuters, Bloomberg, and equivalents) as well as standard business applications.
