About the job:
Our client, a leading insurance group is looking for a seasoned and strategic individual to lead the innovative solutions that simplify and personalize customer digital touchpoints. As the Technical Lead, you will play a pivotal role in transitioning from automated claims systems to global standard platform. Your responsibilities will include designing solutions for internal business challenges, developing Proof of Concepts (PoC) to address fast-moving business needs, and providing comprehensive technical and functional direction for IT product development teams. This role will drive system enhancements and oversee the implementation of innovative solutions across core insurance platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Align project initiatives with strategic transformation goals by translating business requirements into clear technical specifications.
  • Act as a change agent, identifying areas for system improvement and designing solutions to support those changes.
  • Recommend IT solutions based on thorough requirement gathering and system analysis, including enhancements to core insurance systems, mobile applications, data platforms, and third-party vendor tools.
  • Develop and implement Spring Boot-based applications, leveraging the framework's features and capabilities to deliver high-performance, reliable, and secure systems.
  • Implement and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures to support the company's various financial products and services.
  • Evaluate and validate solution designs (e.g., API specifications) proposed by vendors, facilitate architectural reviews, and secure approvals from the Architecture Review Board (ARB).
  • Manage system cutovers and production migrations for all platforms involved in the transformation program.
  • Deliver user training to ensure seamless adoption of new systems during and post-implementation.
  • Provide ongoing technical advisory and support to resolve issues and maintain system stability.
  • Contribute to the company's technology roadmap by identifying opportunities for improvement, automation, and innovation.
  • Leverage system data to generate actionable insights that support informed decision-making throughout the transformation journey.
Qualifications:
  • Proven technical expertise in implementing and maintaining insurance systems.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within financial institutions or insurance companies.
  • Strong background in system analysis, IT development, and implementation.
  • Foundational understanding of life insurance operations, particularly in claims processing and back-office functions.
  • Technical Skills: Programming: Java, React, Databases: Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, API Management
  • Familiar with traditional SDLC and Agile is an advantage
  • Experience in insurance industry is an advantage
