As the Assistant Compliance Manager in a leading insurance firm, your key responsibility will be to:
- Propose innovative enhancements to AML and ABC procedures, elevating the effectiveness of our compliance programs.
- Oversee the review and refinement of AML, ABC, and sanctions policies, ensuring alignment with evolving regulatory and Group Compliance directives.
- Deliver expert counsel to business units on AML, ABC, and sanctions matters, fostering a culture of rigorous adherence to local, Group, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive compliance reviews and monitoring to validate the efficacy of AML, ABC, and sanctions policies and procedures.
- Develop and update cutting-edge training materials for AML, ABC, and sanctions, delivering engaging and impactful training sessions to empower staff.
- Evaluate escalated suspicious transactions, preparing meticulously drafted Suspicious Transaction Reports for the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to review and submit to the Financial Intelligence Unit, as required.
- Investigate and document the rationale for resolving name screening and transaction monitoring alerts, ensuring transparency and compliance.
- Compile insightful management reports for regular submission to senior leadership, Group, and regulatory authorities.
- Facilitate the preparation of documentation for internal audits, regulatory inspections, Group audits, and ABC/AML/sanctions reviews, while contributing to ad hoc projects with agility and precision.
- Contribute to strategic AML and ABC projects, ensuring seamless execution within defined timelines and full compliance with Group and local regulatory frameworks.
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in financial crime compliance focusing on Anti-Bribery and Corruption within financial institutions, with a preference for expertise in the insurance sector.
- Professional qualifications such as ACAMS or ICA are highly advantageous, underscoring a commitment to compliance excellence.
- Demonstrated expertise in executing projects that introduce innovative AML and ABC controls is a distinct advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements set by the Insurance Authority (IA), Autoridade Monetária de Macau (AMCM), and Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic approach to navigating complex compliance challenges.
- Superior project management, communication, and presentation abilities, enabling effective stakeholder engagement.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese.
- A collaborative, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and deliver results under stringent deadlines.
