This leading International Insurer is looking for a Finance Controller for their local office to lead the growth strategy of the business. You will be leading a team of 12, reporting directly to the CFO. Great remuneration package and great worklife balance will be provided.

job scope.
As the Financial Controller in Leading International Insurer, your key responsibility will be to:
  • Oversee all finance functions for the local office including Financial Reporting, Finance Operations & Treasury, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) as well as Projects
  • Develop and implement robust accounting and budgetary policies, procedures, reports, tax planning and effective control mechanisms, including internal audit programs - which are to assure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of financial, regulatory and operating data, optimal protection of assets, minimal potential risks and maximum contribution to the financial health 
  • Steer and organise the financial reporting processes, including but not limited to annual financial statements, regulatory filings and returns and annual statutory audit
  • Analyze and interpret financial data and present monthly results & analysis to senior management and/ or regional office, also develop monthly profitability analysis by product, distribution channel and business partner
  • Lead financial planning and forecasting processes for management’s delivery of compelling and visionary plans that support strategic objectives and Key Performance Indicators (KPI)
  • Supervise firm-wide expense management and budgeting, liaise with all budget owners to optimize expense and drive efficiency
  • Lead change management on finance initiatives and regulatory updates, including IFRS 17 and HK Risk-based capital reporting by liaising with actuarial, financial reporting, IT and other functions
  • Formulate presentations to senior management and/ or regional office such as Business Updates and Reviews, Annual Budget review, Strategy Meetings, Staff Town Halls, Audit Committee and Board Updates
  • Support the team members on daily routine as well as pursue possibilities that will create sustainable value and personal/ career development 
  • Support the CFO in other projects as required

  • Bachelor Degree holder or above with major in Actuarial, Finance, Economy or Business Administration or other related disciplines.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Financial or Accounting field with 2+ years of management experiences, with solid experience in FP&A, Finance and/or Insurance industry
  • Excellent oral and written English communication is a must. Spoken Cantonese will be an advantage
