Senior Project Manager – Insurance

Our client is a fast-growing, innovative international Insurance Group with a solid focus on growing the Hong Kong business with a wide range of insurance products.  You will be responsible for overseeing and executing complex IT projects aimed at transforming and optimizing our organization's systems and processes. This role requires strong leadership abilities, in-depth knowledge of insurance industry practices, and a proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale re-engineering projects.

Responsibilities:

• Communicates effectively with project stakeholders, customers and leadership team to manage expectation and outcome.
• Ensure timely and appropriate planning, collection, creation, distribution, storage, retrieval, management, control, monitoring, and the ultimate disposition of project information to enable effective decision making and ensure successful project outcomes.
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of end-to-end IT re-engineering projects within the insurance sector.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, IT teams, and external vendors, to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgetary considerations, to ensure successful project execution.
• Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies to minimize potential disruptions.
• Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and provide regular updates to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and effective communication.
• Identify and address technical challenges, ensuring the successful integration of new systems and technologies into existing infrastructure.
• Coordinate and lead project teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure successful project outcomes.
• Conduct post-implementation reviews to evaluate project success and identify areas for improvement.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to insurance re-engineering, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation within the organization.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
• Proven experience as an IT Project Manager, specifically in leading re-engineering projects within the insurance industry.
• Solid understanding of insurance business processes, systems, and industry regulations.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with a track record of successfully leading project teams.
• Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose effective solutions.
• Certification in Project Management (PMP) is preferred.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, good command of spoken and written English; fluent in spoken and written Chinese is preferred
