Job description

Our client is a leading supply chain and logistics solution firm with a strong global presence and their APAC headquarters based in Hong Kong. They are looking for an experienced technology leader to join them as the Project Manager.

Responsible for delivering business outcomes from projects, help to plan, execute and deliver projects on time, within budget and within scope in accordance with business priorities. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for project initiation, project planning, project management as well project/process improvements. You will establish and document project plans for project scope and change management, quality management, resource and communications management, risk management and budget management.

Responsibilities

  • Works with stakeholders, who define the requirements of the project, and translate that into deliverables and milestones.
  • Helps the tech lead define tasks, scope and milestones, to successfully launch and land the project.
  • Documents the initial expectations of the project and clearly identifies the changes being requested.
  • Understands the budget and schedule impact of any changes and makes sure that the stakeholders understand those impacts. Integrates all project work by developing the project management plan, directing the work, documenting reports, controlling change, and monitoring quality.
  • Helps define and create clear roles and gives direction to each team member and stakeholder
  • Builds Project Charter for the project.
  • Is familiar with popular software project management tools - JIRA, Confluence, Notion
  • Is familiar with Project Management Methodologies i.e. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall
  • Puts together risk and communication management plan.
  • Manages dependencies both inside and outside the project.
  • Review, clarify and document business requirement details with client’s subject matter experts.
  • Work with client to specify detailed workflows on current “as-is” and provide best practice input in the definition of proposed “to-be” process(s).
  • Prepare detailed specifications (including business logics, use cases, data model, integration formats) for configuration and customization.
  • Prepare process, installation, operating procedure and user/trainer training documentation; provide training and support to client of standard package and tailored system; support the delivery of end user and train-the-trainer training sessions.
  • Accurate and timely administration of project progress, documentation, budget and resource utilization reporting.
Requirements
  • Degree holder in IT, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related disciplines
  • At least 8 years' working experience in IT application development with at least 4 years' in project management, project delivery, enterprise solutions design and development, and maintenance aspect
  • Proven track record of managing multiple application development projects
  • Possession of the following experience preferred:
    - Management of IT team to implement an enterprise application system development projects
    - Solid experience in managing full DevOps software development life cycle (SDLC) for mission critical systems
    - Management of projects performed by internal resources and external vendors
    - Solid experience in tendering process, vendor evaluation and negotiation, and contract management
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team
  • Hands-on experience in working with System Integrators or Consulting companies will be an advantage
  • Strong technical knowledge in software architecture and integration design and project delivery in package solution delivery, data analytics, cloud computing technology
  • Good people management, communication, and presentation skills
